Teachers Meet Claire Rimmer Claire Rimmer is the Head of the Arts Department and Visual Arts Teacher. She joined XCL World Academy in 2014. Claire started her journey into education by embracing the diversity of an Arts Foundation Course at Cumbria College of Art and Design and then graduated from the University College, St John’s York (BA Hons) with a major in Product Design and a minor in Printmaking. She went on to complete a PGCE in Secondary Education specialising in Design Technology and has enjoyed teaching a mixture of both Design Technology and Visual Arts ever since. Claire is passionate about being an educator and considers herself very much a lifelong learner; a trait she encourages all her students to embrace. She has been an international teacher for more than 20 years, after initially enjoying 3 years teaching in Leeds in the UK. Before moving to Singapore with her family, she taught Grades 6-12 in 2 international schools in the Middle East.
