Two Years of Study. A Qualification That Opens University Doors Worldwide.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-year curriculum for Grades 11–12 (ages 16–18), recognised by leading universities worldwide as excellent preparation for undergraduate study.
Students take six subjects: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts, with three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. All complete the core requirements: the Extended Essay (4,000-word research project), Theory of Knowledge, and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service). Subjects are graded 1–7, with 42 points and an additional 3 points for Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, for a maximum possible score of 45 points.
At XWA, the DP is taught through inquiry and mentorship. Teachers guide students in open-ended research and discussion, using technology across subjects. A dedicated wellbeing team and University & Careers Guidance run alongside academics, ensuring learning, pastoral care, and university preparation operate in parallel from Grade 8 onwards.

A pathway built around your child.
每位学生从六大学科组中各选择一门课程：语言与文学、语言习得、个体与社会、科学、数学和艺术。其中三门为高级水平课程，大学通常会考察相关领域的深度；另外三门为标准水平课程。
从八年级开始，升学指导帮助学生做出明智的决定。到十年级时，学生在辅导员的指导下选择科目，这得益于两年的探索以及对大学升学途径和要求的清晰理解。

XCL世界学院的大学升学指导与咨询服务很早就启动，从八年级开始提供结构化支持，帮助学生探索兴趣、了解职业发展路径并做出明智的科目选择。随着学生进入IB文凭课程，这项服务将演变为高度个性化的大学申请指导，包括课程选择、各国具体要求和申请策略。凭借每班级约1:30的低辅导员与学生比例，学生在每个阶段都能获得专属关注和量身定制的支持。

The IB Diploma Is One of Three Senior Pathways at XWA
Not every student takes the full IB Diploma. In Grade 10, students work with XWA's DP Coordinatorand the University and Careers Guidance team to choose the pathway that fits their strengths, interests, and university goals: the IB Diploma Programme, the High School Diploma with Advanced Placement courses, or a combination. The goal is the right fit for each student, not a uniform senior year.
Guidance begins in Grade 8, giving families two full years to reach an informed decision alongside XWA's University and Careers Guidance team.
For students choosing the IB Diploma, the curriculum they have followed since Primary Years and through Middle Years has been building the inquiry and research habits the Diploma requires. Students enter the DP building on what they already know.

The IB Diploma is a two-year curriculum for students in Grades 11–12, ages 16–18. Students study six subjects across six groups, complete a 4,000-word Extended Essay, engage in Theory of Knowledge, and take part in CAS activities. The diploma is recognised by leading universities worldwide.
XWA students consistently score above the global IB average. The Class of 2025 received 385 university offers and USD 16.44 million in scholarships. XWA publishes its results in full every year.
The Extended Essay is a 4,000-word independent research project completed by every IB Diploma student. Students choose their own research question, find sources, and construct an evidence-based argument. It develops the research and writing skills universities expect from first-year students.
It is rigorous and rewarding, but it is one of three senior pathways at XWA. From Grade 8, students work with a dedicated University and Careers Guidance team to explore their options. The decision is based on each student's strengths, goals, and university plans.
University and pathway counselling begins in Grade 8 with XWA's University and Careers Guidance team. It deepens in Grade 10 when students confirm their senior pathway and begin subject selection.
CAS stands for Creativity, Activity, Service. It runs throughout both years of the Diploma and requires students to engage in activities outside academic study, from arts projects and sport to community service and student-led initiatives.
