An Inquiry-Driven Education for Future-Ready Learners
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) at XCL World Academy is a comprehensive, inquiry-driven curriculum designed to nurture curiosity, independence, and a love for learning. Rooted in the IB philosophy, the programme builds on early years foundations while preparing students for more complex and self-directed learning experiences.
Learning is structured through transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry, where subjects such as literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies are seamlessly integrated. This approach allows students to explore real-world concepts in depth, make meaningful connections across disciplines, and apply their understanding in new and diverse contexts.
The programme is further enhanced by the XCLerate framework, which embeds future-ready skills such as creativity, technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership into everyday learning. Students engage in hands-on, project-based experiences that encourage innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
A strong emphasis is also placed on bilingual development through a two-way immersion model in English and Chinese, supporting both academic achievement and cultural fluency. Alongside this, students benefit from a balanced focus on literacy, numeracy, and digital competencies.
Through a combination of academic rigor, real-world application, and holistic development, the PYP empowers students to become confident, capable, and globally minded learners.

Purpose-Built Campus for Young Learners
Designed specifically for children from early years through primary, our dedicated campus creates an environment where young learners feel safe, confident, and ready to explore. Age-appropriate spaces, flexible classrooms, and specialist facilities, from science labs and art studios to libraries, music rooms, and outdoor learning zones, are thoughtfully designed around how children learn and grow.
Separate from older students, this purpose-built setting supports a calmer daily rhythm, stronger emotional security, and greater independence. With natural light, quiet breakout areas, and safe outdoor spaces, students can learn, play, and collaborate in ways that build confidence, wellbeing, and a lifelong love of learning.
XCLerate 未来スキルプログラム
1年生から、すべてのXWAの生徒が毎週XCLerateセッションに参加し、AIリテラシー、リーダーシップ、地域奉仕、クリエイティブアート、起業家精神、環境管理を学びます。これらは追加の活動ではなく、XCLerateのスキルは通常の授業に統合されているため、生徒は学年を通して実践的にそれらを学びます。
中国語・英語バイリンガルプログラム
シンガポールを代表するバイリンガルプログラムの一つで、1つの教室に2人のネイティブスピーカーの教師が常駐し、英語と中国語による没入型でカリキュラム統合型の学習を提供します。プレキンダーガーテンから5年生まで、そして1年生から5年生では2人の担任教師がおり、算数、理科、社会、リテラシーなどの科目は両方の言語で教えられます。これにより、言語の発達は学術的な学習を通じて行われ、それとは別に進められるわけではありません。
このプログラムは、XWA独自の中国語カリキュラムを開発し、国際的な中国語教育に関する博士研究を行っているバイリンガル部門責任者のアンジェラ・ガオが設計・指導しています。

IB PYPは、世界中の初等教育機関で採用されているカリキュラムフレームワークです。生徒たちは、中心的な問いを中心に教科を結びつける探究ベースのユニットを通じて学び、知識と学習方法の両方のスキルを身につけます。この同じフレームワークはミドルイヤーズプログラムにも引き継がれるため、お子様が中等教育で全く新しいアプローチに適応する必要はありません。
XCLerateは、2025年8月に開始されたXWAの未来型スキルプログラムです。1年生から、生徒たちは週に45分のセッションに参加し、AIリテラシー、リーダーシップ、地域奉仕、クリエイティブアート、起業家精神、環境管理について学びます。これらのスキルは、追加の科目としてではなく、通常の授業に統合されています。

メインストリームでは、世界言語の選択肢とともに、完全に英語での指導を提供します。バイリンガルでは、2人のネイティブスピーカーの教師による英語と中国語の双方向イマージョンを提供します。インテンシブ・イングリッシュは、英語を初めて学ぶ生徒を対象に、教室での活動に参加しながら、毎日EAL（English as an Additional Language）クラスでサポートします。各パスウェイは、同じIB PYPの学習成果につながります。
生徒には2人の担任教師がおり、1人は英語を母語とする教師、もう1人は中国語を母語とする教師です。学術的な内容は、双方向イマージョンモデルを通じて両言語で教えられます。そのため、子どもたちは英語での指導と並行して、算数、理科、社会科を中国語で学びます。このパスウェイは現在、毎年拡大しています。
探究ユニットとは、複数の教科を横断する中心的な問いを中心に据え、数週間にわたって行われる探究活動です。「世界はどのように機能しているか」を学ぶクラスでは、算数で気象パターンを測定し、国語で気候について読み、理科で実験を計画するなど、これらすべてを同じ探究活動の一環として行います。探究ユニットは全学年で実施され、教員チームによって共同で計画されます。5年生になると、生徒たちはPYPエキシビションで自分たちで広範な探究活動を主導します。
