OVER 60 WAYS TO FIND WHAT THEY LOVE

From Kindergarten to Grade 12, students choose from dozens of activities across sport, arts, academics, and technology. Most are included in tuition fees and led by XWA faculty.

Structured activities that build confidence, teamwork, and commitment

A student who commits to debate club for three years  learns to build a case, think on their feet, and speak in front of a room. A student who trains with the swim team learns discipline, goal-setting, and how to recover from setbacks . A student who joins the production crew learns project management, deadlines, and what it means to have others depending on them.

Activities run across three categories: sport, arts, and academics. Your child might join the debate club and discover they're a natural public speaker. They might try robotics and realise they want to build things. They might join the swim team and find a sport they'll compete in for years.

The programme runs from Kindergarten through Grade 12, with activities appropriate to each age group. Most ECAs are included in tuition fees and led by XWA faculty. These are people who know your child and can connect what happens after school to what happens during it.

What your child develops

New skills in areas they choose to  pursue. Collaboration with peers who share their interests. Discipline from  regular practice and commitment. Confidence from trying something new and  improving at it.

Milestones

Students progress from trying activities to leading them. Senior students run clubs, manage events, and mentor younger participants. By graduation, many have sustained acommitment, whether sport, music, or service, that becomes part of how they see themselves.

Activities Included in Your Fees

Most extra-curricular activities at XWA are included in tuition fees. These are run by XWA faculty during designated ECA periods, typically 3:45–4:45pm.

Your child isn't limited to one activity. They can try chess one term, football the next, and drama the term after. The goal is exploration, then depth. Your child finds what resonates and pursues it.

Registration happens through SchoolsBuddy, an online system where you can see available activities, sign up, and manage your child's schedule. For questions, the ECA team is available at eca@xwa.edu.sg.

Competitive sports teams

For students who want to compete, XWA fields teams in Singapore's Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS) league. Three seasons run across the school year, with competitions in football, basketball, badminton, swimming, rugby, netball, table tennis, volleyball, triathlon, cross country, and track and field.

How Competition Works

Your child trains with their team and competes against other international schools in Singapore. Age categories run from 11U through 19U, with seasons structured around different sports.

Competitive sport requires commitment: regular training, travel to fixtures, and representing XWA against other schools. For students who want that challenge, it's a formative experience. They learn what it means to be part of a team, to train for something, to win and lose with others depending on them.
