Learning modern languages is a core component of being an international student.

In the Early Years, your child will be introduced to Chinese characters, basic strokes, and conversational Mandarin, delivered by a specialist Mandarin teacher in dedicated class time.

From Grade 1 onwards, they have the option of continuing Mandarin or opting for Spanish or French classes. In Grade 11 we are also offering Japanese Language and Literature class.

In addition, XWA students have the opportunity to integrate Japanese and Chinese Home languages into their daily school schedule if they choose to do so.

XCL World Academy provides diverse extracurricular activities (ECA) in academics, sports, and the arts throughout the year for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our goal is to have a balanced ECA programme that allows your child to develop their character, acquire new skills, and discover new passions. These ECAs are run by our own excellent faculty members and provided free of charge.

In addition, we offer various activities as part of our Enrichment Programme at an additional charge. These activities are led by professional instructors from external providers that work under the XCL World Academy regulations and standards.

Most of our unpaid ECAs take place from 3:45 to 4:45 pm.
