Programme Overview

The Arts Programme starts in the Early Years with a fully immersive approach, and runs through the Primary and Secondary Years Programme.

From Grade 9 onwards students can select either Visual Arts, Music or Drama based upon their personal strengths and interests and allows a more concentrated focus on the subject of their preferred art.

Students have opportunities to exhibit and implement their collaboration and performance techniques within small and large group settings.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts is a powerful mode of communication through which your child will explore and construct a sense of self, and develop an understanding of the world around them. Students will be stimulated to think and articulate their thoughts in new ways and through a variety of media and technologies.

The Visual Arts programme at XCL World Academy is a study of art media, techniques, artists, art history and art appreciation,as well as related techniques and theories.

Music

Music empowers students to explore and excel in their creative abilities and communicate in ways that go beyond their oral language abilities. Students will develop a lifelong appreciation of music and an enthusiasm for learning, all in a nurturing environment with supportive teachers.

The music programme at XCL World Academy includes classifying and analysing sounds, composing, exploring body music, reading music, learning and playing instruments, as well as singing, songwriting, performing and recording their creations.

Drama

Drama has a unique ability to help students develop confidence, public speaking skills and unlock their full potential, which has a significant impact on all aspects of their life.

The Drama Programme at XCL World Academy hones your child’s basic skills in the performing arts and creative dramatics. Students learn how to refine their communication and performance skills, gain a deeper understanding of the history and practice of theatre and investigate how drama can be used as a catalyst for social change and reflection.

Accelerated Pathways to a creative career

The XCL World Academy IB CP in partnership with Savannah College of Arts & Design provides university courses and opportunities to accumulate credits while in Secondary School, accelerating progress towards your child’s career in anything from Fine Arts and Industrial Design to User Experience (UX).
